The Culver-Stockton College men's golf team finished 10th out of 14 teams at the Mid-South Classic played Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 26-27, at Sand Creek Station Golf Club in Newton, Kan.
The Wildcats started strong with an opening round 292 team score that placed them sixth overall but just four strokes out of second place. However, C-SC faltered over the final two rounds, shooting 308 and 310, to finish with an overall score of 910. Oklahoma City University captured its own event with a score of 846.
Individually, Jon Roberson turned in the best score for the Wildcats with a 6-over 222 (69-75-78), which was good for a tie for 26th place. Hunter Baggett was next with a score of 7-over 223 (71-74-78), which placed him in 30th place.
Zach Kuhlman-Pfeiffer finished 59th in the 78-player field with a three-round total of 20-over 236 (81-79-76), while Devin Hobbs finished 63rd with a score of 22-over 236. Ryan Keller rounded out the Wildcat fivesome with a 23-over 239 and placed 66th overall.
The Wildcats are back in action Oct. 9-10, at the William Penn Fall Invitational in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
