The Culver-Stockton College men's golf team shot its best score of the tournament at the NAIA National Championships Thursday afternoon but it wasn't enough for the Wildcats to make the cut at the 64th annual event at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Wildcats carded a team score of 15-over 303 to finish at 69-over 933 overall (318-312-303). The score was good enough to improve the Wildcats one spot in the team standings, finishing 26th in the 29-team field.
Senior Tyler Barr made the biggest move of for the Wildcats, shooting a 1-over 73 to jump up 22 spots and finish in a tie for 84th place. Barr ended the tournament with a 13-over 229 (78-78-73).
Cody Reiber was the top finisher for the Wildcats, ending the tournament at 11-over 227 (75-77-75) to end the three-day tour of the Hills Course tied for 75th place. She shot 3-over 75 on Thursday.
Freshman Hunter Baggett ended the week strong with a 5-over 77 to end the tournament tied for 131st place with an overall score of 22-over 238 (82-79-77). Ryan Keller ended in a tie for 133rd place with a 23-over 239 (81-80-78), while Zach Kuhlman-Pfeiffer finished in a tie for 138th place with an overall total of 26-over 242 (82-81-79).
